Construction Details from the manufacturer:

Our seat frames are all hardwood materials (kiln dried) with 4 metal seat braces. All joints are double dowelled (with spiral grooves) and glued.

We use mortis and tenon joints to avoid frame separation and failure.

Arms are secured to the “seat box” with a 2 ½” to 3 ½” bolt, and a 2”x 4” wood block that attaches to the frame.

We use 2”x2” wood blocks instead of traditional corner blocks for sturdier frames.

Our frames have been thoroughly tested and both have passed the Back-Frame Test, and Arm Load Test at Mississippi State. Our OSB frames proved to be stronger than our plywood frames in the Arm Load Test.
